When you can get to see a Dr they are usually great, but whether it's the process or the number of patients registered, it's becoming increasingly difficult to make contact and get an appointment within a reasonable period of time. It seems that no account is taken for people who work full-time , particularly out of Aylesbury, who can't just drop everything to attend a short-notice appointment on the rare occasion you can get one.
From start to finish I have had the best advice, care and treatment possible. I was trying to self-treat and the kind pharmacy staff next door referred me to the surgery. I expected a long delay but the helpful receptionist took my details, gave me some non medical advice and shortly after I spoke via telephone to a duty doctor who offered advice and treatment. I was able to make decisions about the proposed treatment and promptly after receipt of test results additional treatment was prescribed. I was notified of the results by telephone and a prescription was sent electronically to the pharmacy of my choice and I was able to access the medication and supplement the treatment. I was advised to make an appointment for a review and that too was an easy process. I was very impressed with the smooth running of the whole process and would like to thank all concerned. Well done Poplar Grove Surgery and Rowlands Pharmacy, Meadow Way.
A big thank you to the receptionist who promptly and efficiently helped my husband when there was a problem with his prescription yesterday and sorted his follow up appointment too.
To get through by phone is nearly impossible. To actually get an appointment with your named GP is impossible.
It is almost impossible to get through on the phone, at any time of day, unless you have time to spare waiting in the queue. I have been trying to contact the surgery for blood test results but have had no luck.
Phone problems aside, on the few occasions that my children and I have accessed a nurse or GP they have been brilliant. Such a shame that the practice has clearly been oversubscribed and the subsequent difficulty contacting them makes for such a poor first impression.
